Finally Cebu!

Finally checked Cebu on my bucket list. I’ve been into many places but I felt different on this travel that I had. I was really excited to explore intimately with the Queen City of the South but somehow I was a little bit apprehensive because it was the first time.
But I really had a great time here.We had a super early flight as early as 3:30am via Cebu Pacific, so we went to the Airport at around 1:30 am. Unfortunately our flight was delayed and moved to 4:40am. We arrived in Mactan Cebu Airport at 5:45am. That was pretty exhausting, but we managed it tho. After we picked our baggage up we hurriedly went to the taxi bay of the airport. The Taxi rate is just the same in Manila. Flag down rate is also P30.00.

While heading to the hotel, we passed by the old Mactan-Mandaue Bridge, I had a first-time-feeling with that bridge. Now I know why people so love that bridge and list it as an attraction. There are two bridges in Cebu, the other one is Marcelo Fernan bridge which connect Mandaue to Lapu-Lapu city. Maynard’s aunt was already waiting for us in the Mandarin Plaza Hotel located in J. Solon Drive Cebu City (http://www.mandarinplazahotel.com/). Altho our flight was delayed we arrived at Cebu still early to check in to the hotel, so we just left our bags and ate our breakfast. From the airport to the hotel the taxi cost 167 php if I’m not mistaken.

First stop in Cebu was the Basilica Minore del Santo Nino commonly known as Santo Nino Church (never leave Cebu without going here) It is the oldest Roman catholic church established in the Philippines, it is also the mother and head of all churches in the Philippines.

The Altar where the child Jesus statue is located.
You need to follow in to the queue to see the altar.

In this corner you will put the offertory candles and flowers then a silent prayer for a moment. There are vendor outside that sells candles and flower.

Wearing: Rose sheer top that I brought in a thrift shop, red short from Fisher mall and Angelica chestnut sandals from HUE Manila

Next stop is a walking distance from the Basilica. Fort San Pedro, a military defence structure built by Spanish and Cebuano in 1738 to drive away muslim raiders and in turn it served as a fortress for Filipino revolutionaries near the end of the 19th century. Inside of the Fort is a marvellous view and a small museum.

The entrance is under renovation at the time when we visit the Fort San Pedro

Some Boat Replica inside their museum. There are also paintings and other papers that are preserved.

The Fort San Pedro is located in the area called Plaza Independencia.

After that, we went to Ayala Center Cebu near the hotel that we stayed in. The mall is in Cebu Business Park and one of the largest mall in Cebu that offers its customers the complete list of stores, we stroll around the place and we bought things that we needed for that travel.

That night, we went to Larsian (different barbecue/seafood stalls that offers great variety of food and one of the tourist attraction in Cebu) located at Fuente OsmeƱa in Cebu City. A pig-out dinner here is a must when you visit Cebu. This made our day!
