Bencab Museum Baguio

If you’re following my blog, you know that I have already blogged Baguio City coming from La union (story here). It was our side trip last year when we went to La union for surfing and beach bumming.

Going there is an easy as a pie, go ride a victory liner bus; they have terminals on Cubao, Sampaloc and Pasay. For their schedule just click here. Drop of point is in the victory liner terminal Baguio and just ride a taxi whenever you wish to go. The fare there is not as high as taxi fare in Manila.

I guess most of you already went to Baguio to visit some of this famous tourist spots like Burnham park, Lion’s head, Wright park, Mines view park, Goodshepherd and Strawberry farm to name some. 

Now, there this museum that is now a well-known place and also a new tourist destination in Baguio. Welcome to Ben Cab museum, owned by Mr. Benedicto Reyes Cabrera or popularly known as BenCab, is hailed as a master of contemporary Philippine art.


The place is located at Km. 6 Asin Road, Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet. Open every Tuesdays to Sundays 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (last entry at 5:30 pm). They are closed on Mondays. General admission cost Php120, Students with valid school ID is Php100, and for seniors/ PWD with valid IDs is Php80.

Bencab Museum is devoted to promote the arts, the protection of the environment, and also the culture and traditions of the Cordilleras. BenCab Museum showcases the collection of artist Mr. Benedicto Cabrera in a number of galleries. 


Most of the galleries highlights are the artist collection of paintings, drawings, prints, and sculptures. 
   
   
   
      
 
 
 
   

Below the museum there you will find a garden/duck pond where you could relax after strolling inside the museum and an organic farm which the artist Bencab and his native co-workers plant different vegetables, herbs and strawberries. 


If you feel hungry don’t worry CafĂ© Sabel is on the rescue to feed your soul, its food are fresh and some natural ingredients are from bencabs organic farm. All you need to do is just sit in there cozy chairs and wait for your order and there you go have a zip of their coffee and taste their great food. 



For those who are a fan of souvenir, Bencab museum has their own museum shop which a variety of different books, postcards, t-shirts, woodcarving etc. are being sell.

 
 

I must say that this place is a great place to appreciate our country’s art and culture also whether you’re an art lover or not. There is no reason to appreciate them. A must visit place in Baguio for its beautiful and awesome arts. No wonder this is one of the best spots in Baguio.
